How We Celebrated Foster Care Fortnight™ 2020

Foster Care Fortnight 2020

Anchor Foster Care is joining the Fostering Network to celebrate Foster Care Fortnight, 11 - 24 May 2020.

We've invited our staff and foster carers to join the celebration by sharing #ThisIsFostering pictures and FCF2020 placard photos. We've had an amazing response and we look forward to seeing how imaginative our participants will be.

Each year Foster Care Fortnight is an amazing opportunity for communities to celebrate foster carers and the work they do helping to provide safety, stability and support for children and young people.

With COVID-19 still affecting many many lives, it's important that we stay safe, but equally, it's important that we continue to provide services to support our foster carers, young people and those in our wider network.

We've continued through the pandemic by working remotely and implementing new methods to ensure we can safeguard in the new environment. You can read more about that in some of our previous news stories.

Just as we have sustained vital services, we also want and need to provide opportunities to celebrate those who we work with and the wider community. Therefore, Foster Care Fortnight provides an excellent means to, albeit remotely, lift spirits, immerse ourselves in celebration and show the world that our social workers, foster carers and young people are extremely important.

We'd love if you'd join us in commemorating Foster Care Fortnight by visiting our social media pages and liking or sharing our posts. If you're an Anchor Foster Care foster carer you can also enter our exclusive competition and earn yourself a chance to win a prize.

Remember, if you have a fostering story that you'd like to tell us or you want to join in with our Foster Care Fortnight creative competition, please contact the Communications Officer, Leona Ellis by emailing lellis@anchorfostercare.co.uk
